Course Description: This class will focus on key components that would provide attendees with key insight to developing and starting a youth choir within their ministry. Topics of discussion will include, organizing a successful youth choir that would be multidimensional in structure, and providing opportunities for youth to establish purpose and meaning while being a part of a youth choir.
Course Outline I. Personal devotion, prayer, fasting and a personal relationship with God as Youth Choir Coordinator II. Know the vision of your Leader III. Appoint a team to assist or work with a team that has been established IV. Ensure proper screening and background checks for working team V. Communicating a clear and organized vision to your Team VI. Hosting an interest meeting VII. Establishing a rapport with youth with activities and team building exercises outside of service/ministry time. VIII. Provide opportunities and training for Youth IX. Intentionally provide Positive Reinforcement during youth training/practices X. Maintain consistency with practices, promises and personal growth XI. Encouraging Youth to have a personal relationship with God XII. Encouraging Youth to be disciples for Jesus during ministry and outside of ministry opportunities XIII. Being a listening ear and support for youth XIV. Have an idea or a list of youth related resources in the area for resource and referral programs for XV. youth in the choir XV. Provide and appoint youth leadership roles: i.e. director, secretary, treasurer, prayer coordination, rehearsal coordination, etc. XVI. Remain open to learn from youth (trends and new concepts) to remain relevant and relatable
